Brawler

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Brawler is a sturdy serif built for small reading sizes, rough printing conditions, and compact editorial settings. The shapes are firm and straightforward, which helps text stay readable in dense layouts where a softer or more delicate serif would break down.
Oleg Frolov of Cyreal released it in 2011. The free TTF file includes 229 Latin glyphs, and the package notes that it was made to handle newspaper and tabloid use. That practical purpose is important, because Brawler is less about decoration and more about strong texture and reliable reading at small sizes.
Brawler suits newspapers, magazines, captions, websites, books, and other editorial work that needs a solid serif for everyday reading. It is available for personal and commercial use under the free license package.
