Balthazar

Balthazar is a text serif with condensed proportions, diagonal stress, and a calm literary tone. It stays readable on screens and in print, but larger sizes reveal enough character to keep headings and short pull quotes interesting across longer reading sessions.

The typeface was released by Dario Manuel Muhafara in 2011. The TTF file includes 247 glyphs across Latin and Greek scripts, and the family was shaped to balance screen readability with a more classic serif personality.

Balthazar suits reading text, book pages, editorial layouts, quotes, blog typography, and headline support where a steady serif voice matters. The free download is available for personal and commercial use under its open release.
