Carter One

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Carter One is a bold casual display font that reworks mid-twentieth-century typeforms once popular in advertising and pulp fiction covers. The letters are thick and confident with a slightly informal stance, giving headlines a retro personality that feels lively and approachable at any scale.
Vernon Adams designed Carter One and released it through Google Fonts in 2011. The font contains 268 characters and 211 unique glyphs with support for 42 languages. Adams studied typeface design at the University of Reading and practiced professionally from 2007 until his passing in 2014.
Carter One suits poster titles, casual branding, comic-style layouts, editorial headlines, packaging labels, event graphics, and retro-themed designs that need a bold vintage voice. It is available as an open-source release under the SIL Open Font License through Google Fonts.
