LucaPacioliCaps

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
LucaPacioliCaps is a free mathematical display font created by Manfred Klein in 2004, directly inspired by Luca Pacioli's 1509 treatise De divina proportione. The font reproduces Pacioli's geometric construction of Roman capital letters — the same alphabet system that Matt Desmond later digitized as the commercial Pacioli font used on the Time Bandits movie poster.
Each capital letter in LucaPacioliCaps is built from squares, circles, and arcs based on classical proportional rules, exactly as Pacioli described in his Renaissance mathematical treatise. The result is a monumental, architectural set of capitals that feel both ancient and rigorously geometric — perfect for headlines, monograms, book covers, and any project that needs the gravity of classical Roman letterforms.
The font contains 44 glyphs and 228 characters in a monospaced regular weight. It is freeware for personal use, with commercial use requiring a donation to the designer. Available as a free TTF download from FontSpace, it serves as the closest free alternative to the commercial Pacioli font by Matt Desmond on MAD type.
