About this font

Dom Diagonal Bold is the bold, oblique cut of the classic Dom Casual family, designed by Pete Dombrezian for American Type Founders in 1951. It's the exact font used on The Bling Ring (2013) movie poster, where Sofia Coppola and designer Peter Miles leaned into its mid-century American brush-script character to deliver a "deliberately obnoxious" satirical title treatment.

Dom Diagonal Bold carries the same rhythmic, hand-painted energy as its parent Dom Casual family, but the forward slant and heavier weight give headlines extra visual thrust — perfect for poster titles, packaging, and any setting where the letterforms need to feel like they're moving across the page. The brush strokes retain their 1950s American signage roots, which is why the font has remained a go-to choice for retro branding, mock-luxury graphics, and editorial layouts with a vintage wink.

This free OTF version preserves the original ATF design. The commercial Bitstream digitization is still available on MyFonts for licensed commercial use, but for designers who want the authentic Dom Diagonal Bold character without the license cost, this version delivers the same 1951 Dombrezian brush script exactly as it was drawn.
