Roboto Font
Roboto is a contemporary typeface. Google’s interface designer, Christian Robertson, created this font. The designer mainly works on Android. The typeface was released in 2011 and launched with Android version 4, called “Ice Cream Sandwich.” The Roboto font was created as a substitute for the Droid font. It was the system font of Google. The aim for Roboto was to make it so that it could be suitable across all devices.
Roboto is classified as a neo-grotesque typeface. Roboto features straight sides and rounded letters, unlike the other grotesque fonts in its family. It improves the reading experience as well.
Roboto was not an instant hit in some niche communities, particularly typography experts. In other words, it was a Frankefont, combining elements from other typefaces.
Roboto was redesigned in 2014. It is a popular typeface today. However, it is simply modern and approachable. The makeover foreshadows its future, unafraid to adapt to the changing digital landscape.
Droid is Android’s previous system default font. To replace that, Roboto is designed as a neo-grotesque sans-serif font. Each font weight has its oblique style as opposed to true italics. An inclined design is included and condensed, regular, and bold styles. It has a large family of 28 styles.
Usage
Big brands and companies have used it since 2010. Its sans-serif typeface is a strong contrast to a variety of fonts. Tech startups rely on Roboto’s visual stability more than ever.
In design and printing, Roboto is widely used. Adidas, Nike, and Apple all use it.
Whether your style is simple or unique, the Roboto fonts are perfect. Many Roboto fonts are available, but choosing one is not that easy. You can use it for web pages, Blogger posts, and more.
Make your text look better with Roboto. Whether you’re writing code, fiction, or ads, Roboto will improve your text. The Roboto font is also readable. It is also ideal for use in Photoshop. The Roboto font is designed to make content more readable on mobile devices.
