Aptos is a clean geometric sans serif built for everyday reading and interface work. The shapes are simple and direct, but they do not feel cold, which makes the family easy to use in both headlines and body text across documents, websites, and business communication.
Steve Matteson designed Aptos for Microsoft. The local TTF file includes 1,287 glyphs with Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, and Thai support, making it one of the broadest families in this review set. The also notes six weights, oblique styles, and compact plus display versions in the wider family.
Aptos works well for office documents, web interfaces, reports, presentations, and multilingual design systems that need a clear modern sans. It is free for personal use.
