Amiri is a classical Arabic book typeface based on the Naskh tradition. It was built for long reading, so the forms stay clear and steady on the page while still carrying the calligraphic richness associated with older Arabic printing. The Latin companion helps it work in bilingual settings without feeling mismatched.
The font files carry copyright credits for Khaled Hosny and collaborators, and the current TTF includes 5,994 glyphs with Arabic and Latin support. The describes Amiri as a revival of the Arabic type used by the Bulaq Press in Cairo, which gives the family a clear historical base as well as a modern digital role.
Amiri works well for books, essays, scholarly work, religious publishing, and bilingual editorial projects that need a classical Arabic text face. It is available for personal and commercial use.
