Altena is an italic brush script with an uneven baseline, quick strokes, and a natural handwritten push. The letters feel loose and active, so quotes, logos, and packaging pick up a casual painted look instead of the smoother finish of a formal calligraphy script.
Nugs Studio released the font in 2024. The TTF file includes 122 Latin glyphs, and It includes ligatures, swashes, roundings, and multilingual support in the fuller set. Those features give Altena enough variation for short custom lettering and compact branding pieces.
Altena works well for logos, packaging, posters, album artwork, quotes, and landing page headers that need a brush script voice. It is free for personal use, with the full commercial version sold separately.
