Alegreya is a thoughtfully crafted serif typeface originally designed for literary publications and long-form reading. Developed by Juan Pablo del Peral, this elegant family gained international recognition when it was named one of the 53 "Fonts of the Decade" at the ATypI Letter2 Competition in 2011, and earned second place at the Iberoamerican Biennial Design Competition in Madrid the same year.
What sets Alegreya apart is its humanistic approach to typography—the letterforms draw inspiration from calligraphy but are interpreted as pure typographic language, creating a warm and readable experience. The font features a distinctive varying rhythm that keeps pages visually engaging without distracting from the text. Its versatility makes it equally suited for book publishing, editorial design, magazine layouts, and sophisticated branding projects.
