Abel

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Abel is a narrow sans serif designed for clean headlines and tight layouts. It has flat sides, angled terminals, and a slim vertical build that keeps words neat and modern without looking stiff or technical.
Matthew Desmond designed it in 2011, and the regular file includes 259 Latin glyphs. The compact shape makes it useful when space is limited, while the simple construction helps it stay readable across posters, website headings, and editorial subheads.
Abel works especially well in headlines, navigation labels, magazine layouts, and branding systems that need a calm condensed voice. It is available as a free personal-use download, with separate licensing for broader commercial use.
