Ek Sort’s Baloo is a friendly display typeface. The family is Unicode compliant and freely licensed and is available in nine Indian scripts as well as a Latin counterpart.
Baloo is a distinct heavy spurless style with a faint hint of fun and all the essentials of a kind. The typeface concentrates on doing equal justice to each and every act of this lovely jungle affair to secure single and multi-script use by squeezing numerous scripts beneath a single weight. Baloo infuses life wherever it goes, being carefree yet confident, warm yet amusing, lively but understandable.
The Baloo project creates nine distinct fonts for each of the nine Indic Scripts, each with its own unique neighborhood name. Every font supports one Indic subset in addition to Latin, Latin Extended, and Vietnamese.
It took a team of dedicated variety designers to rear Baloo and nurture it to become the typeface we love, properly fed and completely nourished across each script. Baloo Devanagari is created by Sarang Kulkarni, Gurmukhi is created by Shuchita Grover, Bangla is created by Noopur Datye, Oriya is created by Manish Minz and Shuchita Grover, Gujarati is created by Supriya Tembe and Noopur Datye, Kannada is created by Divya Kowshik, Telugu is created by Omkar Shende, Malayalam is created by Ek Sort collaborated on the creation of Baloo Latin. Girish Dalvi assisted with form design and styling, as well as typeface engineering.
