About the Font
The Amasis mt std font was created by Ron Carpenter and became available for the first time in 1990-1992 via the Monotype font foundry.
Despite the fact that the Amasis layout seems to be inspired by the use of ionics at first glance, its design technique is firmly anchored in the later several years of the twentieth century. It performs particularly well at tiny point sizes, and it has also shown to be excellent for usage on low-resolution printers and other output devices, among other things. The humanist appearance of this typeface is achieved by the work of the famous British picture artist and type designer, Ron Chippie. Despite its almost industrial appearance, it maintains a delicate beauty: an aggregate that is very difficult to produce.
